Women's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight PSAC West Contest

The women's lacrosse team concluded their three game homestand with a PSAC West matchup with Gannon on Wednesday afternoon.  

The Griffins held Gannon to just single goals in each period as they defeated the Golden Knights by a 15-4 score.  SHU is now 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the PSAC West.  

Gannon scored the first goal of the contest four minutes into the first period as they took an early 1-0 lead.  Piper Conlan scored with just over nine minutes left in the period to tie the score at one.  Megan Bunker and Elizabeth Tamasitis scored 25 seconds apart late in the quarter as the Griffins took a 3-1 lead into the second quarter.  

Grace Agnello and Carleigh Sutfin scored less than three minutes into the second quarter as the Griffins extended their lead to 5-1.  Later in the quarter, Agnello and Sutfin scored ten seconds apart as the Griffins increased their lead to 7-1.  Hannah Thompson and Ruby DePalma scored the final two goals for the Griffins in the quarter.  Gannon closed out the scoring with 36 seconds to play as SHU led 9-2 at the half.  

Conlan, Brooklyn Miller and Bunker scored three goals in less than a minute as SHU built their lead to 12-2 with 9:15 left in the third.  After a Gannon goal, Tamasitis scored with 3:48 left in the period to keep the clock running.  

Tamasitis opened the scoring in the fourth quarter for the Griffins.  Mila Udovicic closed out the scoring for the Griffins.  

Seton Hill outshot Gannon 40-17 in the contest.

Bunker picked up her 300th career draw control in the contest.  

Tamasitis led SHU with three goals and an assist.  Conlan finished with two goals and an assist.  Sutfin, Bunker and Agnello each scored twice.  Udovicic and DePalma each had a goal and two assists.  Kyleigh Hessian made eight saves in cage.  Makayla Kintner led SHU with four caused turnovers.

Seton Hill will travel to Erie on Saturday for another PSAC West contest.
