The Griffins returned home after their Florida trip with a doubleheader against LeMoyne on Thursday afternoon.
The Dolphins defeated the Griffins 3-2 in game one and the Griffins responded with a 3-2, 11 inning win in game two. SHU is now 8-7 overall.
LeMoyne opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first inning.
SHU got that run back in the bottom of the second inning.
Braden Durham opened the inning with a single. He stole second and scored on a two out RBI single from
Aidan Shephard.
The Griffins took the lead in the third inning.
Max Mandler singled with one out. He stole second and moved to third on a ground out. Mandler scored on a two out RBI single by
Logan Vietmeier.
LeMoyne scored two runs in the top of the eighth to take a 3-2 lead.
Mandler led SHU with two hits.
Jon McCullough went seven innings, giving up one run on three hits while striking out 5.
Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game two.
Jack Oberdorf drew a one out walk. He moved to second on a Mandler single. Later in the inning
Vincenzo Rauso doubled down the left field line to score Mandler and gave SHU a 1-0 lead.
The Griffins added another run in the third. With one out,
Jack Whalen was hit by a pitch and Oberdorf drew a walk to put two runners on. Whalen stole third and scored when Mandler reached on a fielders choice.
LeMoyne took advantage of two walks in the fifth as they tied the score at two.
The game remained tied at two until the eleventh inning. Rauso led off the inning with a single. After two strikeouts, Rauso moved to second on a wild pitch. He scored when
Owen Sabol singled to right field to walk off the Dolphins.
Rauso and Sabol led the Griffins with two hits.
Aidan Layton went eight innings, giving up one earned run and two hits while striking out nine.
Blake Barker went three scoreless innings.
The Griffins will close out the four game set with a doubleheader with the Dolphins on Saturday.
