Griffins Rally for Win at Shippensburg

The Griffin lacrosse team made the trip across the turnpike for a non conference matchup with Shippensburg as their final tune up before heading south this weekend for spring break. 
 
Seton Hill used a huge third quarter in which they outscored the Raiders 6-0 in route to a 12-7 victory over Shippensburg.  SHU is now 1-1 on the season. 
 
Shippensburg opened the scoring with a goal less than a minute into the contest.  They added one just under two minutes later as they took a 2-0 lead.  Piper Conlan got the Griffins on the board at the 11:50 mark to cut the Ship lead to 2-1.  The Raiders scored the final two goals of the quarter as they took a 4-1 lead. 
 
The Raiders opened the scoring in the second quarter as they extended their lead to 5-1 just about five minutes into the quarter.  The Griffins would then score the final three goals of the half.  Skylar Orlowski scored with 8:39 to play in the quarter.  Megan Bunker added one at the 1:23 mark and Orlowski's second just 22 seconds later cut the Ship lead to 5-4.  Mila Udovicic assisted on the Griffins final three goals. 
 
Less than three minutes into the third quarter, Conlan tied the contest at five with a goal.  The Griffins took their first lead of the game on Udovicic's goal with nine minutes to play in the quarter.  Just ten seconds later, Carleigh Sutfin extended the lead to two at 7-5.  Just twenty four seconds later, Conlan added her third of the game to give SHU an 8-5 lead.  Elizabeth Tamasitis increased the Griffins lead to 9-5 with a goal with just over a minute to play in the quarter.  Just nineteen seconds after Tamasitis' goal, Brooklyn Miller extended the Griffins lead to 10-5 with a goal.  Udovicic assisted on three of the six Griffin goals in the quarter. 
 
The Raiders scored the opening goal of the fourth quarter to cut the Griffins lead to 10-6 with 12:35 to play in the contest.  Less than a minute later, the Raiders cut the SHU lead to three.  Grace Agnello pushed the Griffin lead back to four, 11-7, with a goal with 5:30 to play in the quarter. 
 
Conlan led the Griffins with three goals.  Orlowski added two goals and an assist.  Udovicic finished with a goal and seven assists.  Sutfin added a goal and assist.  Kyleigh Hessian recorded eight saves in cage.
 
Seton Hill will begin their spring trip with a matchup with Mount Olive on Saturday.
