SHU Splits a Pair at Glenville State Tourney

Seton Hill concluded play in the Glenville State Tournament with a pair of games on Sunday.
 
The Griffins scored two times in the sixth inning as they defeated Glenville State 2-1 in game one.  Seton Hill dropped game two to WV State by a 4-1 score.  SHU is now 4-2 on the season. 
 
Glenville and Seton Hill played five scoreless innings before the Pioneers pushed across a run in the top of the sixth inning to take a 1-0 lead over the Griffins. 
 
The Griffins took the lead back in the bottom half of the inning.  After one out, Brooklyn Fukushima reached on an infield single.  She moved to second when Kylie Hegland drew a walk.  Both runners moved up on a Grace Paredes groundout.  Lauren Dellett then came through with a key two out, two RBI single to give SHU a 2-1 lead. 
 
Dellett earned the win with a complete game two hitter.  She struck out four in the win.  Lauren also had two hits and drove in both runs.  Fukushima also added two hits. 
 
The Griffins got on the board first in game two.  With one out, Kylie Hegland doubled.  She scored on a single from Grace Paredes. 
 
WV State scored twice in the bottom half of the inning to take a 2-1 lead and added single runs in the fourth and sixth inning. 
 
The Griffins will be off for the week before heading to Florida for their spring trip beginning next weekend.
