Griffins Complete Sweep of Walsh

Seton Hill closed out their three game set with Walsh with a single nine inning contest on Sunday afternoon.

Seton Hill completed the sweep with a 9-1 victory.  SHU is now 4-2 on the season.

The Griffins got on the board first in the bottom of the second.  Vincenzo Rauso led off the inning with a walk and moved to third on a perfectly executed hit and run from Max Mandler.  Mandler and Rauso then executed a double steal with Mandler moving to third on an error.  Mandler later scored on an Owen Sabol RBI ground out.

Seton Hill added seven more runs in the sixth as they batted around.  Rauso led off with a single and scored when Mandler launched the first pitch he saw over the left field wall to give the Griffins a 4-0 lead.  Braden Durham doubled in a run, Logan Vietmeier added an RBI ground out and Rauso drove in the final two with a two RBI single.

Walsh got a single run back in the top of the seventh inning.

Jack Oberdorf, Mandler and Rauso each had two hits.  Kevin Vaupel earned the win with five shutout innings.  He struck out six.

The Griffins will be off this week as they prepare for their trip to Florida for Spring Break beginning next weekend.
