Seton Hill opened their spring trip with early morning matchup with WV Wesleyan from the Chain of Lakes Complex in Winter Haven, FL.

The Griffins defeated WV Wesleyan by the score of 12-1 in a shortened seven inning contest. SHU improves to 5-2 on the season.Â

The Griffins got off to a fast start as the first four hitters reached base.Â
Jack Whalen,
Braden Durham and
Jack Oberdorf singled to lead off the inning with Whalen scoring on Oberdorf's single. Durham scored when
Vincenzo Rauso reached on a fielders choice.Â

SHU added two more in the third. Rauso singled and scored on a
Max Mandler triple. Mandler scored when
Owen Sabol singled with two outs.

WV Wesleyan got an unearned run in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 4-1.Â

The Griffins got that run right back on a RBI triple from Oberdorf in the bottom half of the inning.Â

Seton Hill batted around in the fifth inning. They scored seven times in the inning. Sabol had an RBI double and
Elijah Snider added an RBI double. Whalen added an RBI single and Vietmeier doubled in two with Rauso driving in the final run with a single.Â

Rauso and Sabol each had three hits. Whalen, Durham and Oberdorf each added two hits.Â
Jon McCullough,
Jack Laird and
Jared Dowey combined for a one hitter.Â

The Griffins will continue their spring trip with a matchup with Minnesota State on Sunday afternoon.Â
