Seton Hill kicked off their 2023 season in Cary, NC with a doubleheader with Findlay on Saturday afternoon.
Findlay look game one then walked off the Griffins in game two to complete the sweep of the Griffins.
Findlay took a 3-0 lead over the Griffins in game one of the doubleheader. They added two more in the sixth to increase their lead to 5-0.
The Griffins got on the board in the seventh.
Drew Garth was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
Logan Vietmeier walked and after an out,
Max Mandler drove in Garth with a single.
The Oilers added two more runs in the ninth.
Mandler had two hits for the Griffins in game one.
SHU took a 1-0 lead in game two.
Jack Whalen singled to lead off the contest. He moved to second on an
Owen Sabol walk.
Jack Oberdorf singled to load the bases and Vietmeier walked to force in a run.
Findlay answered with two runs in their half of the first inning. SHU tied the score in the fourth when
Braden Durham singled to lead off the inning and later scored.
Findlay retook the lead with a run in the bottom half of the inning. SHU tied the game in the sixth. Durham singled and stole second and scored on a Sabol single.
The Oilers then walked off the Griffins in the ninth with the winning run scoring on an error with two outs.
Vietmeier and Durham each had two hits.
SHU will close out the three game set with Findlay on Sunday with a single game.
