Seton Hill hit the road for a PSAC West contest at Pitt Johnstown on Saturday afternoon.

UPJ outscored the Griffins 49-36 in the second half as they defeated the Griffins by an 85-72 score. SHU is now 17-11 overall and 10-9 in the PSAC.

Hallie Cowan hit two three pointers in the first three minutes to give the Griffins an early 6-5 lead. UPJ then ran off six straight as they built an 11-8 lead midway through the quarter. SHU then went on an 8-0 run on two baskets each from
Alie Seto and
Christiane Frye as they Griffins took a 16-11 lead with 3:23 left. UPJ closed the quarter on a 10-4 run to take a 21-20 lead at the end of the quarter.Â

Back to back layins from Frye and Seto put the Griffins in front 26-23 with 6:54 to play in the second. UPJ then scored seven of the next nine to take a 30-28 lead at the second quarter media timeout. Frye scored four straight for the Griffins and a driving layin from
Helene Cowan at the buzzer tied the score at 36.Â

Pitt Johnstown took a 43-38 lead two minutes into the second half. Frye answered with a four point play and
Courtney Tomas added a three as the Griffins took a 45-43 with 6:41 to play. Four straight from UPJ put the Mountain Cats back in front. Seto answered with a three but UPJ scored seven straight to take a 56-50 lead with two minutes to play. UPJ led 58-53 after three quarters of play.Â

UPJ built their lead to 62-53 with four quick points to start the fourth quarter. The Griffins responded with a three from Tomas and a
Sakeria Haralson layup to trim the lead to 62-58 with 7:57 left. UPJ then went on a 9-2 run as they took a 71-60 lead with 4:28 left. UPJ hit 12 of 12 free throws down the stretch to close out the game.Â

Frye and Seto led the Griffins with 20 points each. Tomas and
Helene Cowan each added 10 points.Â
