The Griffins continued PSAC play on Saturday afternoon with a PSAC Crossover at Shippensburg.

A huge second half for Shippensburg helped the Raiders turn around a halftime deficit as they defeated the Griffins 71-64. SHU falls to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC.Â

Neither team got off to a quick start as Seton Hill led just 13-9 midway through the first half.Â
Caleb Whitaker scored the first eight points of the half for the Griffins.Â
Kedrick Curtis finished a dunk and
Ryan Meis drilled a three as SHU took the 13-9 lead with 10:27 to play in the half.Â

Shippensburg scored the next six points before
Jimmy Moon knocked down a three to put the Griffins back in front 16-15. Six straight from the Griffins, four from Meis, put SHU in front 22-17 with 3:47 to play. In the last minute of play, Meis hit two three pointers, the final at the halftime buzzer to give SHU a 31-22 halftime lead.Â

After Whitaker opened the second half scoring, the Raiders scored six straight to force a SHU timeout after cutting the lead to 33-28 with 17:36 left in the second half. Shippensburg began the half with a 13-2 run as they tied the score at 35 at the under 16 media timeout. The run continued for the Raiders as they scored nine of the next ten points to take a 44-36 lead with 13:35 left in the half.Â

The Griffins answered back with a 10-2 run to tie the score at 46 with 9:15 left in the half. Meis scored seven of the ten points with Whitaker adding the other three. Ship answered right back with two three pointers as they took a 52-46 lead with 7:42 to play.Â
Gabe Gillespie hit a bucket and
Drew Green added a free throw as SHU cut the lead to 54-53 with 4:47 to play. The Raiders hit a three to increase the lead back to four. Ship increased their lead to 62-54 with 2:52 to play on a three pointer.Â

A three point play from Whitaker trimmed the lead to 64-57 with 1:28 left. The Raiders were able to put the game away at the free throw line.Â

Meis led the Griffins with 21 points. Whitaker also reached double figures with 16 points.Â

Seton Hill will take a break for finals week before returning to the court next Saturday when they play Chestnut Hill at Pitt Greensburg.  Â
