Seton Hill hosted Slippery Rock for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon in the McKenna Center.
The Griffins won their third straight contest by sweep as they swept the Rock in PSAC West play. Â
Slippery Rock led early in the first set 9-7 before the Griffins went on a 6-0 run on two kills from
Paige Cole and a
Kendyl Wagner ace. The Rock got back to within one point but kills from
Abby Oesterling and
Mara Yahner gave SHU the first set with a 25-21 win. Â
The Rock took an early 6-2 lead before three straight aces from
Kate Eden put the Griffins back in front 6-5. Later in the set, a solo block from
Catie Flohr and another Eden ace pushed the SHU lead to 20-14. Kills from Yahner and Cole put SHU in front 2-0 with a 25-16 second set win. Â
The Griffins jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the third set after three straight aces from
Maddie Stout. Flohr ended the match with a kill as SHU completed the sweep.
Cole led the Griffins with a match high 16 kills. She also added 10 digs. Flohr finished with eight kills.Â
Kaitlyn Lipps added six kills in ten swings.Â
Abby Oesterling added 20 assists, eight digs and four kills. Eden finished with 11 assists and four aces. Wagner finished with nine digs and three aces.
Seton Hill will host Clarion next Friday evening.   Â
