Seton Hill closed out the home portion of their schedule as they hosted Edinboro on Senior Day at Offutt Field in Greensburg.
The Griffin offense exploded for nearly 500 yards of total offense as they defeated the Fighting Scots 38-28 in PSAC West action. SHU is now 4-5 overall and 3-3 in the west. Â
SHU finishes with a 3-2 record at home. The first winning season at home since the 2016 season.
The Griffins finished with 496 yards of total offense on 321 yards rushing. SHU held the ball for nearly 39 minutes of the contest. Â
Late in the first quarter, the Griffins took a 7-0 lead on a two yard touchdown run from
Ky'Ron Craggette as SHU took a 7-0 lead with 3:08 left in the first quarter. The Griffins carried the 7-0 lead into the second quarter. Â
Edinboro marched 89 yards in nine plays on their first drive of the second quarter to tie the score at seven. It only took the Griffins three plays to retake the lead.Â
JaiQuawn McGriff rushed for nine yards then
Jake Cruz connected with Mark Bails Jr for a 56 yard catch. McGriff then scored from 16 yards out to give SHU a 14-7 lead with 9:37 to play before the half.Â
Demetri Whitehead then intercepted a pass to set up a 29 yard field goal from
Luke Hauger that extended the Griffins lead to 17-7 with 4:08 to play in the half. The Griffins led 17-7 at the half. Â
Midway through the third quarter, Craggette raced 86 yards on a third and two to push the Griffin advantage to 24-7 with 6:06 to play in the third quarter. Late in the quarter the Scots scored from 19 yards out to trim the lead to 24-13.Â
Ritchie McCormack blocked the extra point. Â
After the Scots fumbled a punt to open the fourth quarter, Cruz connected with Bails Jr on a 37 yard catch and run as the Griffins built their lead to 31-13 with 12:40 left in the fourth. The Scots only needed two plays to answer as they cut the lead back to 31-20 with 11:59 to play. SHU then put the game away with a 14 play, 73 yard drive that took 8:37 off the clock. The Griffins ran the ball all fourteen plays, the last a four yard run from McGriff as the Griffins extended their lead to 38-20 with 3:16 left. Edinboro scored the final points of the game with 21 seconds to play.Â
Blake Baterse recovered the onside kick to close out the game. Â
Cruz finished the game 9-13 for 175 yards and a touchdown. Craggette ran for 208 yards and two touchdowns. McGriff finished with 90 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Bails Jr had five catches for 165 yards and a touchdown. McCormack led the defense with seven tackles.Â

The Griffins finish PSAC West play next Saturday as they travel to Mercyhurst. Â
