Griffins Earn Convincing Senior Day Win

Seton Hill honored thirteen of its seniors on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon as they hosted Pitt Johnstown in a PSAC West matchup.

The Griffins earned a convincing Senior Day win as they defeated the Mountain Cats by the score of 4-1.  SHU is now 4-7-1 in the west.

It did not take the Griffins long to get on the scoreboard as they scored just 4:17 into the contest.  Victoria Rothrauff opened the scoring from Ali Resch and Emma Rain.  Less than ten minutes later the Griffins increased their lead to 2-0.  Rain gave SHU a 2-0 lead.  Kathryn Penman assisted on the goal.  UPJ answered less than thirty seconds later to cut the Griffins lead to 2-1.  SHU took the 2-1 lead into the halftime break.

A little under fifteen minutes into the second half, the Griffins pushed their advantage back to two goals.  Jessica Molitoris scored from Samantha Hallo to give SHU a 3-1 lead.  Three minutes later, Kilee Coatney made it 4-1 with a goal.  Molitoris and Penman assisted on the goal.

Molitoris and Rain each had a goal and assist.  Penman finished with two assists.  Lindsey Pazdziorko made three saves to earn the win.

SHU will continue PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon at IUP.
