Seton Hill honored thirteen of its seniors on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon as they hosted Pitt Johnstown in a PSAC West matchup.
The Griffins earned a convincing Senior Day win as they defeated the Mountain Cats by the score of 4-1. SHU is now 4-7-1 in the west.
It did not take the Griffins long to get on the scoreboard as they scored just 4:17 into the contest.
Victoria Rothrauff opened the scoring from
Ali Resch and
Emma Rain. Less than ten minutes later the Griffins increased their lead to 2-0. Rain gave SHU a 2-0 lead.
Kathryn Penman assisted on the goal. UPJ answered less than thirty seconds later to cut the Griffins lead to 2-1. SHU took the 2-1 lead into the halftime break.
A little under fifteen minutes into the second half, the Griffins pushed their advantage back to two goals.
Jessica Molitoris scored from
Samantha Hallo to give SHU a 3-1 lead. Three minutes later,
Kilee Coatney made it 4-1 with a goal. Molitoris and Penman assisted on the goal.
Molitoris and Rain each had a goal and assist. Penman finished with two assists.
Lindsey Pazdziorko made three saves to earn the win.
SHU will continue PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon at IUP.
