Seton Hill returned to PSAC West play as they hosted California (PA) at DSG Field in Greensburg on Wednesday afternoon.
The Griffins scored a pair of goals in each half in route to a 4-0 victory over the Vulcans. SHU is now 3-7-1 in the PSAC West while CalU drops to 1-8-2 in the west. Â
With just under eighteen minutes to play in the first half, the Griffins took a 1-0 lead on a goal from
Kilee Coatney.Â
Emma Rain found
Madison Carr streaking down the right side and Carr crossed a pass to Coatney near the top of the box and Coatney deposited a shot into the back of the net to put the Griffins in front. Just over ten minutes later the Griffins increased their lead to 2-0. Coatney touched a free kick off to
Jessica Molitoris who blasted a shot into the back of the net to put the Griffins ahead by two. Â
A little over three minutes into the second half,
Natalie Maver hit
Leah Kessler down the right side who hit
Victoria Rothrauff with a pass and Rothrauff found the back of the net to give SHU a 3-0 lead. Late in the second half,
Maddie Teakle took a free kick and passed to
Leah Policarpio who beat two defenders and scored to give SHU a 4-0 lead. Â
Coatney led the Griffins with a goal and assist.Â
Lindsey Pazdziorko recorded three saves in net for the shutout win.
The Griffins will host Pitt Johnstown on Saturday at 12:30 PM for Senior Day. Â
