Seton Hill took a break from PSAC West play with a PSAC Crossover matchup at home with Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins used a 16-4 second quarter as they were able to pull away from the Huskies and cruised to a 74-50 victory. SHU is now 13-7 overall and 6-5 in the PSAC.
Alie Seto started the game off strong as she scored the first nine points for the Griffins as they built a 9-4 lead four minutes into the contest. The Huskies battled back and got to within two at 13-11 with 3:31 left in the quarter. The Griffins then closed out the quarter scoring the final six points on three straight baskets from
Sakeria Haralson. SHU led 19-11 after one quarter of play.
The second quarter was all Seton Hill as they outscored the Huskies by a 16-4 margin.
Emma Fischer and
Christiane Frye split the first eight points of the quarter as the Griffins built their lead to 27-11 with 6:29 left in the half. Seto hit two free throws before Bloomsburg scored their first points of the quarter at the 5:24 mark.
Helene Cowan,
Courtney Tomas and Frye scored the next six points for the Griffins before two free throws from Bloomsburg made it 35-15 at the half.
Seto opened the second half scoring before back to back three pointers from the Huskies and a free throw cut the lead to 37-22 less than three minutes into the half. SHU built their lead to as many as 24 in the rest of the quarter before settling for a 57-35 lead after the third quarter.
The Griffins were able to extend their lead to as many as 26 in the fourth quarter before settling for a 24 point victory.
SHU shot 42% from the floor while holding the Huskies to just 30% from the field. The Griffins were able to force 19 Huskie turnovers.
Both Seto and Haralson finished with double doubles in the contest. Seto scored 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Haralson scored 12 points and added 12 rebounds. Frye finished with 15 points, six assists and five rebounds.
The Griffins jump back into PSAC West play on Monday as they host CalU.
