The Griffins completed play at the Cedarville Tournament on Saturday afternoon in Cedarville, OH.
Seton Hill opened the day with a morning match against Saginaw Valley State. The Griffins then took on West Liberty in their final match of the day. Â
Saginaw Valley won the first two sets against the Griffins and defeated SHU in four sets in the first match of the day. After dropping the first set to West Liberty, the Griffins won three straight sets for a four set win over the Hilltoppers. SHU ended the tournament with a 3-1 record and is currently 6-2 on the season. Â
Saginaw Valley won the first set over the Griffins by a 25-12 score. They took the second set by a 25-21 score. SHU took the third set by a 27-25 score before the Cardinals won the match with a 25-12 fourth set win. Â
Paige Cole led the Griffins with a match high 19 kills.Â
Payton Rodberg also reached double figures with 12 kills.Â
Riley Rock had 20 assists to lead SHU.Â
Mariela Alvarado posted 19 digs in the loss. Rodberg and Cole each had double doubles with Rodberg with 15 digs and Cole with 10. Â
West Liberty won the first set over the Griffins with a 25-23 win. SHU then won the second set 25-22. They dominated the third set with a 25-10 SHU win. The Griffins closed out the match with a 25-19 fourth set win. Â
Katie Koziarz led four Griffins in double figure kills with 17. Cole finished with 16. Rodberg finished with 14 kills and
Elizabeth Kolkowski added 10.Â
Abby Oesterling led SHU with 28 assists. Rock added 24. Kolkowski led with five blocks. Cole led SHU with 21 digs. Â
The Griffins return to action next weekend at home in their own tournament. Â
