Seton Hill continued play in its non conference portion of its schedule by taking part in the Cedarville Tournament this weekend.
The Griffins played a pair of matches on Friday. They opened with an early morning matchup against Central State and closed the day with an afternoon contest with host Cedarville.
After dropping the first set to Central State, the Griffins won the next three sets for a four set win. SHU then swept Cedarville to improve to 2-0 on the day and 5-1 on the season.
Central State rallied to defeat the Griffins 26-24 in the first set. SHU responded with a 25-11 and 25-15 win in the second and third sets. The Griffins closed out the match with a 25-12 win.
Katie Koziarz led the Griffins with nine kills.
Bobbi Rempe finished with eight and
Elizabeth Kolkowski and
Payton Rodberg each added seven.
Riley Rock led SHU with 22 assists while
Mackenzie English posted a team high four blocks.
Mariela Alvarado led the Griffins with 15 digs.
Seton Hill outlasted Cedarville in a 28-26 first set. The Griffins took a 2-0 lead with a 25-18 second set win. SHU closed out the match with a 26-24 third set win.
Paige Cole led SHU with 11 kills. English finished with nine and Rempe added seven.
Abby Oesterling ran the offense with 22 assists. Kolkowski led SHU with three blocks. Cole finished with a double double with 12 digs. Oesterling added 11 and Alvarado finished with 10.
SHU will take on Saginaw Valley State and West Liberty on Saturday at the Cedarville Tourney.
