The Griffin women's soccer team closed out the non conference portion of their schedule with a road contest in Buffalo, NY on Sunday afternoon against D'Youville.
Seton Hill scored twice in the second half for a 2-0 victory over the Saints. SHU improves to 2-0 on the season.
Both teams got off to a slow start offensively with neither team being able to find the back of the net in the first half. The Saints held a 5-2 advantage in shots in the first half.
Seven minutes into the second half, the Griffins took the lead. Just like in their first contest,
Madison Carr finished a cross from
Jessica Molitoris for the first goal of the game for the Griffins. With 23 minutes to play in the contest,
Corynna Rotoli extended the Griffins lead to 2-0. She tapped in a pass from
Brenna Springer past the Saints keeper to put the Griffins in front by two.
SHU finished the game with a 10-9 advantage in shots. They held a 5-4 advantage in corners in the contest.
Lindsey Pazdziorko recorded her second shutout of the season. She finished with six saves.
SHU will begin PSAC West play on Thursday afternoon when they host Clarion at 4 PM.
