Griffins Begin PSAC West Play With Victory

Seton Hill began PSAC West play with a home matchup with Clarion in Greensburg, PA on Thursday afternoon.  

The Griffins scored once in each half in route to a 2-0 PSAC West win over the Golden Eagles.  SHU is now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC West.  Clarion falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the west.  

For the third time this season, Madison Carr was able to get the Griffins on the scoreboard first as she scored her third opening goal of the season.  The play started with a free kick from Mikayla MoyerBrenna Springer was able to get a flick on the ball and Carr picked up the ball and beat the Clarion keeper for a 1-0 Griffin lead.  

Each team had four shots in the half.  The Griffins had three corner kicks in the half to none for the Golden Eagles.  

With about seventeen minutes to play in the contest, Alexis Garia increased the Griffin lead to 2-0.  She scored from about 30 yards out to increase the Griffins lead to two. 

SHU outshot the Golden Eagles 8-4 in the second half.  The Griffins had the only three corner kicks in the half.  

Garia led the Griffins with five shots.  Carr and Corynna Rotoli had two shots each.  Lindsey Pazdziorko recorded her third shutout of the season,

SHU will continue PSAC West play on Saturday afternoon at Slippery Rock.
