The Seton Hill women's soccer program began their 2022 campaign with a home match with West Liberty on Thursday afternoon.
The Griffins scored an early goal and added one late in the second half for a 2-0 win over the Hilltoppers.
It did not take the Griffins long to get on the scoreboard in the first contest of the season. Less than six minutes into the contest,
Madison Carr tapped in a
Jessica Molitoris cross at the far post to put the Griffins in front 1-0.
Seton Hill held a 5-1 advantage in shots in the first half. Each team had two corner kicks in the half.
Lindsey Pazdziorko made a save in the half.
In the second half,
Corynna Rotoli took advantage of a mistake by the Hilltopper keeper as she intercepted a pass from the keeper and lofted a shot over the keeper's head into the back of the net to extend the Griffins lead to 2-0 with just over fifteen minutes to play in the contest.
The Griffins held a 5-2 advantage in shots in the second half and also had a 4-0 advatage in corner kicks in the half.
Molitoris and Rotolli each had two shots in the match. Pazdziorko finished with one save.
SHU will continue non conference play on Sunday afternoon at D'Youville College.
