Seton Hill Athletics continue to set new records each year for the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Awards. The Griffins placed 215 student athletes on the D2ADA Award list for the 2021-22 academic year. Seton Hill had the second most student-athletes honored in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and tied for the fifth most in the country honored behind Findlay with 273, Walsh with 260, Mercyhurst with 241, Queens (NC) with 234 and Embry Riddle and SHU with 215.

The Academic Achievement Award program recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level. In order to receive the Academic Achievement Award, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher, have attended a minimum of two years of college and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during their last academic year.
In total, 16,639 student-athletes from 169 institutions were recognized for the 2021-22 Academic Achievement Awards. For the fourth straight year the conference leader was the PSAC with 1,709 followed by the Sunshine State Athletic Conference (SSC) with 1,306.
Seton Hill was one of 12 PSAC schools to have student-athletes recognized. Bloomsburg, California (Pa.), Gannon, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Mercyhurst, Pitt Johnstown, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock and West Chester joined the Griffins on the list.
The D2ADA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of Division II athletics directors.
