Seton Hill Mourns the Loss of Bruce Ivory

7/11/2022 1:45:00 PM

The Seton Hill Athletics Department mourns the loss of former Associate Athletic Director and Compliance Coordinator Bruce Ivory.

" I was simply heartbroken when I learned of Bruce's passing. I extend my deepest sympathy to his family and friends, "said Seton Hill Athletic Director Chris Snyder.  "I had the great fortune of meeting Bruce at a clinic in Cincinnati, OH back in 2005. Back then, Seton Hill was about to begin our transition from the NAIA to the NCAA; and after our initial meeting I knew we needed Bruce to assist us in that transition. Bruce served as our Associate Athletic Director for Compliance from July 1, 2006 until his retirement on December 31, 2016. His wisdom and thoughtfulness proved an invaluable resource for me on both a personal and professional level and without question played a vital role in Seton Hill achieving active NCAA status in 2008. Bruce truly cared about the athletes at Seton Hill and he will be missed by many."

Ivory was named Compliance Coordinator at Seton Hill in July of 2006, a position he held for over ten years until his retirement in December of 2016.  As compliance coordinator, Ivory helped the Griffins in the transition from being members of the NAIA to being a full member of the NCAA.

Prior to Seton Hill, Ivory spent 13 years in the Compliance Office at the University of Cincinnati.  Ivory was also an assistant football coach at Cal State Fullerton, Howard and Cincinnati.

Seton Hill extends our deepest sympathy to Bruce's family and friends, including his children, Marcus and Ashley. We pray for Bruce and ask that all of God's faithful departed may rest in peace.
