Seton Hill took the field of Robb Field at Shippensburg University on Saturday afternoon with the chance to make school history.
The Griffins were able to make history as they advanced to their first ever NCAA Atlantic Super Regional with an 11-0 win over Claflin in the NCAA Atlantic Regional 2 Final. SHU is now 39-10 on the season.
SHU put runners at second and third with one out in the top of the first inning but were not able to cash in a runner. Griffin starter
Chloe Elliott got a strikeout to end the first inning, leaving two Lady Panthers on the base paths.
Claflin got two runners on with one out in the second inning but Elliott got a pop out on a bunt and a pop out to end the inning.
The Griffins finally broke through in the fourth inning. With one out,
Grace Paredes singled and moved to second on a bunt base hit from
Alexis Bonatch.
Mackenzie Zang made it 1-0 with a clutch two out RBI single on a 2-1 pitch to put the Griffins in front.
Seton Hill added three more runs in the fifth inning.
Nichole McClendon opened the inning by reaching on a bunt base hit. She stole second and scored when
Jenna Osikowicz tripled to the left center field gap.
Morgan Ryan was hit by a pitch and
Morgan Toal followed with an RBI single down the third base line.
Brooklyn Fukushima walked to load the bases and Paredes drew a bases loaded walk to force in the fourth run for the Griffins.
Seton Hill broke the game open in the seventh inning with seven runs. With an out, Toal doubled to left center field. Fukushima walked and Paredes singled to load the bases.
Nina Grandey singled to drive in two runs and put the Griffins in front 6-0.
Lauren Dellett walked to load the bases and
Alex Walsh drew a bases loaded walk to force in a run. Osikowicz then reached on an error, forcing a run in. Ryan followed with a bases clearing double which gave the Griffins an 11-0 lead.
Dellett then got a fly out to center field to end the game and move the Griffins into the NCAA Atlantic Super Regional.
Chloe Elliott earned her 13th win of the season. She worked 4 shutout innings, striking out 4.
Lauren Dellett worked the final three innings to earn the save. She struck out two.

The Griffins will meet Kutztown in next week's NCAA Atlantic Super Regional.
