Seton Hill continued their weekend road trip with a PSAC Crossover matchup with Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.
Shepherd defeated the Griffins 8-6 in game one before the Griffins responded with a 7-1 win in game two. SHU is now 23-6 on the season.
The Rams scored three runs on three hits as they took an early 3-0 lead over the Griffins in game one of the doubleheader. They added two more runs in the second inning as they increased their lead to 5-0. Shepherd made it 7-0 with two more runs in the fifth.
Seton Hill rallied for six runs in the sixth inning. With one out,
Jenna Osikowicz walked and moved to third.Â
Morgan Ryan was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Both runners scored when
Morgan Toal reached on an error.Â
Brooke Cleland doubled to score Toal and make it 6-3.Â
Natalia Greco reached on an error and
Grace Paredes drove in two with a double to make it 7-5. The sixth run scored on an error.
Paredes led the Griffins with two hits and two RBIs.
The Griffins took an early lead in game two.Â
Nichole McClendon singled to lead off the game. She scored on a
Jenna Osikowicz double. Osikowicz later scored on a Cleland single to give SHU the early 2-0 lead. Â
Brooklyn Fukushima doubled to right field to knock in Paredes and Toal in the third inning to give SHU a 4-0 lead.Â
Mackenzie Zang led off the fourth with a double. She moved to third on a McClendon sacrifice bunt and scored on an Osikowicz single. Toal hit a two run homer in the seventh inning to give SHU a 7-0 lead. Â
Morgan Ryan earned her eighth win of the season with the complete game victory. She gave up a run on three hits and struck out three. Â
Osikowicz led the Griffins with two hits and two RBIs. Toal also drove in two.
SHU will host Indiana (PA) on Tuesday in a non conference doubleheader. Â
