Seton Hill returned to the field after a seven day break when they hosted Edinboro on Monday afternoon in a PSAC West doubleheader.
The break did not slow down the Griffins as they were able to sweep the Fighting Scots in the doubleheader. SHU won the first game by a 9-1 score in five innings in game one. They were able to complete the sweep with a 6-0 win in game two. Seton Hill improves to 25-6 overall and 2-2 in the west. Â
The Griffins jumped on Edinboro for three runs in the first inning in game one.Â
Nichole McClendon singled to lead off the contest. She reached second on an error with
Jenna Osikowicz reaching on a fielders choice.Â
Lauren Dellett singled to load the bases.Â
Morgan Toal reached on a fielders choice with McClendon scoring. Toal and Osikowicz then completed a double score to make it 2-0.Â
Brooke Cleland completed the scoring with a sacrifice fly. Â
Edinboro got a double and a triple back to back to cut the Griffins lead to 3-1. SHU answered right back with two runs in their half of the second.Â
Natalia Greco reached on a walk and stole second. After an out,
Mackenzie Zang walked while Greco stole third. Greco scored on a McClendon ground out. Zang then scored when
Jenna Osikowicz singled as SHU took a 5-0 lead. Â
SHU added two more runs in the third inning. Toal was hit by a pitch and Cleland followed with a two run shot to left field which gave the Griffins a 7-1 lead. McClendon doubled and scored on a Dellett single in the fourth inning. The Griffins ended the game in the fifth.Â

Bre Athey moved to second on a ground out and scored the game ending run on a McClendon single.
Lauren Dellett earned the win in the circle. She went all five innings while allowing one run on five hits. She struck out three. Dellett also had two hits at the plate. McClendon led the Griffins with three hits. Cleland added three RBIs.
SHU scored three runs in the first inning of game two as well. After one out, Osikowicz doubled and stole third. Osikowicz scored on a throwing error to make it 1-0. Toal singled and Cleland drove in two with a double to make it 3-0. Â
Edinboro threatened in the fourth inning but reliever
Lauren Bertig was able to get out of a bases loaded, no out situation with three fly outs. Â
The Griffins doubled their lead in the fifth inning. McClendon and Osikowicz singled to start the inning with both moving up on a wild pitch. McClendon scored when Toal reached on an error. Osikowicz then scored on a wild pitch with Toal scoring on a Cleland sacrifice fly.
Morgan Ryan earned the win in relief with three scoreless innings. She gave up two hits and struck out five. Osikowicz and Toal each had two hits. Cleland drove in three runs.
SHU will continue PSAC West play on Tuesday as they host Gannon in another make up contest from this past weekend.Â
