Seton Hill continued PSAC West play on Tuesday afternoon when they hosted Gannon in Greensburg.
The Golden Knights defeated the Griffins by a 4-1 score in game one but the Griffins responded for a 1-0 win in game two to earn a split of the doubleheader. SHU is now 26-7 overall and 3-3 in the PSAC West.
The Griffins took the lead in the first inning of game one.Â
Nichole McClendon walked to lead off the inning. She moved to second on a ground out and then moved to third on a
Lauren Dellett single.Â
Morgan Toal gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly that scored McClendon. Â
Gannon took the lead with a two run homer in the top of the third inning. They added single runs in the fourth and seventh innings for the 4-1 win.
Four Griffins each had a single in game one.
Game two was a pitchers dual between SHU's
Morgan Ryan and Gannon's Gabi Vasi. Neither team was able to crack the scoreboard until the bottom of the sixth inning. Â
Natalia Greco walked to load off the inning. She moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Grace Paredes and then moved to third on a ground out. Greco scored on a wild pitch to give SHU a 1-0 lead. Â
Ryan then retired the Knights in order in the seventh inning. Â
Toal had a single for the Griffins.
SHU will travel to Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon for a PSAC West contest. Â
