Seton Hill hosted Edinboro in a PSAC West contest on Saturday afternoon in Greensburg.
On a day where they honored SHU Athletics Hall of Famer Emily Fagan, the Griffins put on a show as they shutout the Fighting Scots by a 23-0 score. SHU is now 8-3 overall and 4-2 in the west.
The Griffins took a 6-0 lead over the Scots after one quarter of play.Â
Skylar Orlowski opened the scoring with a goal just over three minutes into the contest.Â
Megan Bunker,
Alaina TeSelle and Orlowski scored less than two minutes apart as the Griffins built a 4-0 lead with 7:07 to play.Â
Piper Conlan scored a man up goal and
Jaclyn Frank closed out the scoring with a goal with 3:47 to play in the first. Â
The second quarter was no different as the Griffins outscored the Scots by a 6-0 margin. Bunker and Conlan scored just fourteen seconds apart to push the SHU advantage to 8-0 early in the quarter.Â
Hannah Thompson and Conlan then scored 26 seconds apart as the Griffins were able to put the running clock into play with a ten goal lead with 10:46 left in the half.Â
Ella Wroblewski and
Hannah Kelley scored the final two goals of the quarter for the Griffins as they led 12-0 at the half. Â
SHU then found the back of the net nine times in the third quarter. Conlan scored the first two goals for SHU as they extended their lead to 14-0 with 12:05 to play. Frank, Bunker, TeSelle and Orlowski scored as SHU built their advantage to 18 goals. In the final four minutes of the quarter,
Grace Agnello scored twice and
Carleigh Sutfin added one to give SHU the 21-0 lead after three quarters. Â
Wroblewski and Kelley scored the last two goals in the fourth quarter. Â
SHU outshot the Scots by a 44-4 margin. Draw controls were 22-3 in favor of the Griffins. Â
Conlan led the Griffins with five goals and two assists. Frank had a game high ten points on two goals and eight assists. Bunker finished with three goals, an assist and 17 draw controls. Orlwoski had three goals and two assists. TeSelle, Wroblewski, Kelley and Agnello each scored twice. Thompson finished with a goal and two assists. Â
SHU will return to action next Sunday when they travel to IUP for a PSAC West contest. Â
