Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Orlowski, Frank, Bunker Carry Griffins to PSAC West Road Win

Seton Hill traveled to Gannon a day early to avoid some bad weather in the forecast on Sunday in Erie.  The Griffins took on the Knights in a PSAC West contest on Saturday morning.

The Griffins jumped out to a 9-2 halftime lead and were able to defeat the Knights by the score of 15-10 to win their second straight PSAC West contest.  SHU is now 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the west.

The early start did not affect the Griffins as they jumped out to a 6-1 lead after the first quarter.  Skylar Orlowski got the Griffins on the board first just over three minutes into the contest.  Gannon tied the score at one before the Griffins closed the quarter by scoring the final five goals.  Orlowski scored twice just under two minutes apart to put the Griffins in front 3-1 with 4:47 to play in the quarter.  Megan Bunker pushed the lead to three before Orlowski's fourth of the quarter gave SHU a 5-1 lead.  Piper Conlan scored with 33 seconds to play in the quarter to close out the scoring.

Gannon opened the scoring in the second quarter but SHU scored three times in the second half of the quarter as they took a 9-2 lead into the halftime break.  Jaclyn Frank opened the scoring in the quarter for SHU and Bunker closed out the scoring by finding the net twice in the final 3:27 of the half.

Orlowski and Frank scored to open the third quarter and extend the SHU lead to 11-2 midway through the third quarter.  Gannon scored five of the final six goals of the quarter as they were able to trim the SHU lead to 12-7 after three quarters of play.  Frank scored twice in the second quarter.

The Knights scored the opening two goals of the fourth quarter as they were able to trim their deficit to just three goals at 12-9.  SHU responded with goals from Frank and Grace Agnello to push the advantage back to five with 5:36 left.  Orlowski scored the final goal of the game with 2:38 to play.

Frank led the Griffins with eight points on four goals and four assists.  She also added five ground balls and three caused turnovers.  Orlowski tied her season high with six goals and added an assist.  Bunker finished with three goals, 12 draw controls and four caused turnovers.  Conlan added a goal and an assist.

Seton Hill will continue PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Lock Haven.
