Seton Hill began PSAC play on Friday evening with a PSAC Crossover matchup at Lock Haven.
The Bald Eagles outscored the Griffins 48-21 in the second half as they rallied from a halftime deficit for a 74-55 victory over the Griffins. SHU falls to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in PSAC play while Lock Haven improves to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC.
The Griffins took an early 4-0 lead on baskets from
Samuel Tabe and
Sean Dillon in the first minute of the contest. Lock Haven battled back and took a 16-9 lead with just under eleven minutes to play in the half. SHU answered back with an 11-0 run as they took a 20-16 lead with 7:11 to play in the half.
Drew Green had five points in the run for the Griffins.
Back to back baskets from Tabe gave SHU a 31-24 lead with 3:11 remaining before the half.
Gabe Gillespie's basket with a minute left put the Griffins in front 34-26 at the halftime break.
Tabe opened the second half with a basket as the Griffins took their biggest lead of the game at ten. Lock Haven then went on a 9-0 run to cut the SHU lead to one. The teams then exchanged the lead over the next eight minutes. Lock Haven used a 12-5 run over a four minute stretch as they took a 51-45 lead with just under eight minutes to play, that would be a lead the Bald Eagles would not give up.
Over the final eight minutes, the Bald Eagles outscored the Griffins 23-10 for the nineteen point win.
Tabe was the lone Griffin in double figures with 12 points. Green just missed double figures with nine points.
The Griffins will continue PSAC Crossover action on Saturday at Mansfield.
