Men's Basketball Drops PSAC Crossover Contest

The Seton Hill men's basketball team closed out the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule as they hosted Kutztown in a PSAC Crossover matchup on Monday afternoon.

Kutztown scored 52 points in the first half and build a big lead and the Griffins could not overcome the big lead in a 91-77 home loss.  SHU drops to 6-4 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC while Kutztown improves to 3-6 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC.

A basket from Samuel Tabe and a three pointer from Sean Dillon gave the Griffins an early 5-2 lead.  Kutztown responded with a 14-0 run as they build a 16-5 lead at the 13:49 mark and never looked back.  The Golden Bears built their lead to as many as 27 points in the first half and took a 52-31 lead into the halftime break.

Down by twenty, the Griffins went on an 8-0 run, keyed by a Ryan Meis three pointer as they cut the Bears lead to 57-45 with 14 minutes remaining.  The Griffins then went on a 10-0 run after Drew Green and Dillon hit back to back threes as they got to within five at 60-55 with 11:31 to play.

Kutztown builf the lead back to ten before a three pointer from Meis and a layin from Dillon made it 67-62 with 7:56 left.  That would be as close as the Griffins would get as Kutztown increased their lead to as many as 14 points down the stretch.

Meis led four Griffins in double figures with 24 points.  Dillon also reached double figures with 15 points.  Tabe finished with a double double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Moon also reached double figures with 10 points.
