Seton Hill closed out their trip to Puerto Rico and the Porta Del Sol Shootout with a matchup with Inter American University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Griffins made it a perfect trip to Puerto Rico with an easy 73-24 win. SHU was 3-0 on the trip and is now 8-3 on the season. Â
The Griffins used the three ball in the early portion of the contest as
Hallie Cowan hit two three pointers and
Alie Seto added another as SHU jumped out to an early 9-2 lead.Â
Helene Cowan scored seven straight points as SHU extended its lead to 24-5 with 3:13 left in the quarter.Â
Maddy Moore scored the final five points of the quarter as SHU took a 29-7 lead into the second quarter. Â
After Inter scored four of the first eight points of the second quarter, the Griffins scored the final twelve points of the quarter as they built a 45-11 lead at the halftime break. Â
Seton Hill continued to build its lead in the third quarter and took their largest lead of the game to date on a three pointer from
Ayannah Elliott near the end of the quarter. SHU led 57-18 after three quarters of play. Â
SHU scored the first thirteen points of the fourth quarter as they increased their lead to 70-18 midway through the final quarter. Â
Nufi Nemale led thirteen Griffins who reached the scoring column with 11 points. Moore just missed double figures with nine points. Elliott and
Hallie Cowan each tossed in eight points.Â
Helene Cowan finished with seven.Â
Joi Burleigh pulled down a team high 11 rebounds.Â
Corinne Eisner and
Madelyn Fike each added nine rebounds. Â
SHU will return to the court on Sunday and Monday when they host East Stroudsburg and Kutztown in PSAC Crossovers. Â
