Seton Hill made the short trip across town on Tuesday afternoon as they played a non conference matchup against Division III Pitt Greensburg.
The Griffins jumped out to a twenty two point halftime lead and were able to cruise to a 71-36 victory over UPG. SHU improves to 3-2 overall while UPG falls to 0-5 on the season.
SHU jumped out to a 11-2 lead midway through the first quarter behind four points each from
Alie Seto and
Helene Cowan. Late in the quarter,
Maddy Moore hit a three pointer to put the Griffins in front 19-8 heading to the second quarter.
Moore opened the second quarter by draining a three as SHU pushed their lead to fourteen points. After UPG got to back within ten points,
Teresa Haigh hit back to back three pointers and
Sakeria Haralson hit a basket as SHU pushed their lead to 30-12 midway through the quarter. The Griffins closed the half on a 9-2 run as they took a 39-17 lead into the halftime break.
Seton Hill kept Pitt Greensburg off the scoreboard for the first 7:41 of the third quarter as they opened the quarter by scoring the first twelve points. SHU led 56-22 after three quarters.
The Griffins were able to extend their lead to as many as 39 points in the fourth quarter.
Haigh led the Griffins with 14 points with four three pointers.
Alie Seto finished with 11 points and
Corinne Eisner recorded her first double double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Helene Cowan and
Maddy Moore each scored nine points for the Griffins.
SHU will travel to Frostburg State on Sunday afternoon for another non conference matchup.
