Men's Basketball Improves to 4-0 With Win over Roberts Wesleyan

Seton Hill continued their three game home stand as they hosted Roberts Wesleyan on Friday afternoon on Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day.

The Griffins continued their hot start as they won their fourth straight to open the season with the 87-72 win over the Redhawks.  

The early portion of the contest was very tightly played as the teams were tied at ten four minutes into the contest.  Five quick points from Ryan Meis gave the Griffins an 18-12 lead with 12:27 to play in the first half.  The Griffins were able to extend their lead to 13 points at 26-13 midway through the half.  Samuel Tabe had five points and Sean Dillon had the other two as SHU went on an 8-0 run.  

Roberts Wesleyan battled back and was able to trim the SHU lead to 31-26 with 6:45 to play in the half.  The Griffins responded with an 8-0 run over a 1:40 stretch as they built their lead back to 39-26 with 5:03 remaining.  Tabe had half of the points in the run.  Back to back baskets from Tabe and Dillon gave SHU its largest lead of the half at 16, 45-29 with 2:34 to play.  SHU took a 47-35 lead into the halftime break.  

Dillon hit back to back three pointers to open the second half as the Griffins built their lead to 53-35.  Drew Green's three pointer five minutes into the second half extended the Griffins lead to twenty points.  The lead extended to twenty one points before the Redhawks made one last run at the Griffins.  They got to back within eleven points at 64-53 with eleven minutes left in the second half.  

The rest of the half, the Griffins held a lead of between 13 and 19 points as they were able to win their fourth straight.  

The Griffins shot 54% from the floor in the win.  SHU forced 19 turnovers which led to 31 points for the Griffins.

Dillon led three Griffins in double figures with 26 points.  He added seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win.  Tabe finished with 21 points.  Meis also reached double figures with 14 points.  

The Griffins will host Shippensburg on Tuesday evening at 5 PM.
