Seton Hill began their 2022-23 season in the Butler County Chamber of Commerce Conference Challenge at Slippery Rock University against Notre Dame (OH).

The Griffins used a 32-13 run over the final ten minutes of the first half and then cruised to a 100-71 victory over the Falcons.

Both teams came out of the gates fast as the Griffins built a 10-9 lead less than three minutes into the contest.  Notre Dame (OH) then went on a 12-5 as they took a 21-15 lead with 13:17 to play in the half.

A three pointer from Jimmy Moon, a basket from Samuel Tabe and a James Rice jumper put the Griffins in front 25-23 with 7:48 left in the half.  Two Falcon free throws tied the game at 25 but a quick 6-0 run from the Griffins on baskets from Gabe Gillespie, Ryan Meis and Drew Green put the Griffins in front 31-25 with 6:31 to play.

Seton Hill then closed out the half, outscoring the Falcons 22-11, as they took a 53-36 lead into the halftime break.

Eight points from Green and five points from Meis allowed the Griffins to a go on a 13-3 run as they extended their lead to 71-44 with 14:26 left in the second.

Seton Hill just continued to use their balanced scoring as they were able to hold onto their big lead.  They took their largest lead of the contest on a Michael Joiner layup with 3:42 left.  SHU led by 33 points at 94-61.

A balanced scoring attack led the Griffins as they had six players reach double figures led by Meis who had 17 points.  Green finished with 16 points.  Seam Dillon added 12 points.  Tabe, Moon and Joiner each scored ten points.  Dillon added seven rebounds.  Meis and Brock Baker finished with four steals.
