Griffins Defeat Queens (NY) 1-0

The Griffins concluded non conference action on Wednesday evening with a road trip to Flushing, NY for a matchup under the lights with Queens (NY).  

Seton Hill scored a late goal as they were able to defeat Queens by a 1-0 score.  It is the second straight win for the Griffins.  

In the first half, neither team was able to crack the scoreboard.  Queens outshot the Griffins by a 7-4 margin in the half.  Queens had a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Nathaniel Huff recorded two saves in the half.  

Elias Vangen put the Griffins in front with a goal with 2:29 to play in the contest.  Brice Gandhi assisted on the game winning goal.  

Queens outshot the Griffins by a 12-11 margin.  They had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Benjamin Nicholson led the Griffins with three shots.  Yuriy Kryskiv and Vangen each had two shots in the win.  Huff finished with four saves in the shutout win.

The Griffins return to PSAC West play on Saturday at Slippery Rock.
