Seton Hill closed out the home portion of their regular season with a Senior Day contest with Slippery Rock at DSG Field on Wednesday afternoon in Greensburg.
SHU scored. once in the first half and then added two more goals in the second half in a 3-1 win over the Rock. With the win, the Griffins clinched a PSAC postseason spot. SHU is now 5-2-2 in the PSAC West. SHU and Gannon are currently tied with 17 points. Gannon has two contests left while the Griffins have one.
Less than fifteen minutes into the contest, the Griffins took a 1-0 lead over the Rock.Â
Anton Dupont Linden finished a pass from
Elias Mobrin to put the Griffins in front. SHU held the 1-0 lead at the halftime break. The Griffins held an 8-5 advantage in shots in the half. Â
Just over six minutes into the second half, the Griffins extended their lead to 2-0. A great passing play from Dupont Linden to
Cai Pritchard set up
Fletcher Amos for the goal. Amos's goal gave the Griffins the two goal advantage. Less than nine minutes later the the trio connected for another goal. Amos scored his second of the game as SHU extended their lead to three.
Amos had two goals to lead SHU. Dupont Linden finished with a goal and two assists while Pritchard added two assists.Â
Nathaniel Huff recorded six saves in the win.
SHU will close out the regular season on Saturday at CalU.Â
