10/11/2022 11:00:00 AM

Seton Hill University President Mary C. Finger has announced the hiring of Cassie Moore as the university's Head Softball Coach.

Moore spent the previous four years as the head softball coach at Bethany College.

"It is a tremendous honor to be named the next Head Softball Coach of Seton Hill University, and I want to thank Chris Snyder and Brian Rose for the opportunity to lead the Griffins," stated Moore.  "I am humbled to lead such a high-academic and goal-orientated team, and I look forward to building upon their past successes; I'm excited to see what we can do in 2023 and beyond!"

"I'm pleased to welcome Coach Moore to the Griffin family," said Athletic Director Chris Snyder.  "She brings experience as a player and coach that will certainly help our program grow and improve on our recent success."

Moore guided the Bison to the Presidents Athletic Conference Tournament in the past two seasons, advancing to the PAC title game in 2021.  Over those two seasons, the Bison were 23-11 in PAC play.  The 2021 team was the first Bethany team to win 20+ games in five seasons.

In her four seasons at Bethany, Moore coached thirteen All PAC performers and one NFCA Division III All Central Region performer.

Prior to Bethany, Moore spent one season as an assistant coach at Division II Coker.  During her one season, the Cobras finished as South Atlantic Conference runner up and earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament.  The Cobras finished with a 36-18 record and Moore helped the pitching staff finish the season with a 2.72 ERA.

Moore also spent one season as head coach at Division III Newbury College.  From 2013-2015, Moore was the head coach at Genesee Community College in Batavia, NY.  She led the Cougars to their first ever conference championship and was Coach of the Year in the WNYAC in 2015.  Moore coached eleven All Conference and three All Region selections at Genesee.

Moore played two seasons at Division II Mars Hill before injuries cut short her playing career.  She graduated from Mars Hill with a Bachelors of Art in English and earned a Masters of Art in Liberal Arts Education from Fort Hays State University.  She served one year as an Americrops VISTA and worked for five years as a Service-Learning program coordinator before entering collegiate athletics. She holds a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teaching License from Yoga Alliance, and has taught yoga at the NFCA Annual Convention since 2018.
