The Seton Hill wrestling program returned to action on Saturday afternoon at the Kutztown Duals after a crazy week where they had two duals and a tournament postponed because of the CoVID pandemic.
The Griffins made the most of the opportunity as they went 3-0 in three matches to improve to 4-1 on the season in dual matches.
SHU defeated Glenville State 39-11 in the first match of the day. They then defeated #24 American International by the score of 42-6. The Griffins then closed out the duals with a 30-11 win over Queens (NC).
Against Glenville the Griffins won five matches by fall to dominate the match.
Frank Bonura,
William Burgess and
Joel Cawoski each won by fall to give SHU an early 18-0 lead in the match.
Logan McKoy won by decision and
Tyler Alberts followed with a win by fall as SHU took a 27-0 lead midway thru the match. Bryce Wilks won by forfeit at 165 pound and
John Meyers won by fall in the final match at the Griffins won by a 39-11 margin.
Bonura won by forfeit and Burgess won by decision as SHU took a quick 9-0 lead over American International. McKoy won by fall and Wilkes won by forfeit as SHU led 21-6 six matches in. The Griffins then closed the match out with four straight wins.

Riley O'Mara,
Brendan Finnerty and Meyers all won by fall to end the match.
In the Queens match, the first four Griffins all won their matches by decision to open a 12-0 lead. Bonura, Derek Chandler-Christie, Cawoski and McKoy all won by decision. Alberts and Wilkes each won their matches by forfeit. Meyers then closed out the match with his third win by fall.
SHU will return to action next Friday evening when they travel to Pitt Johnstown to meet the Mountain Cats in a PSAC Dual.
