Griffins Kick off 2021 With 1-0 Road Win

The Griffin women's soccer team opened their 2021 campaign with a road contest at West Liberty on Thursday evening.  Seton Hill got a first half goal and made it stand in a 1-0 road win over the Hilltoppers.  

Grace Kenyon made two saves in the first fifteen minutes to keep West Liberty off the board in the early portion of the first half.  Victoria Rothrauff then opened the scoring for the Griffins with a goal from about 30 yards out in the 21st minute to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead.  Kenyon made one more save in the half as the Griffins took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.  

Kenyon was even better in the second half, making six saves.  She made four saves in the first fifteen minutes to keep the Griffins in front 1-0.  Kenyon made back to back saves in the 78th minute to preserve the 1-0 lead.  

The Griffins finished the contest with seven total shots, five of them on goal.  Seton Hill held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks in the win.  

Kenyon earned the win in goal, finishing with nine saves in the shutout.  Rothrauff and Alexis Garia each had two shots for the Griffins.  

Seton Hill will be off for over a week before opening PSAC West play on the road at Gannon on September 11th.
