Seton Hill hosted Indiana (PA) in a PSAC West contest on a beautiful sunny Wednesday afternoon in Greensburg. The Griffins controlled play for the second half but a goal off a free kick late in the half gave the Crimson Hawks a 1-0 win over the Griffins. SHU falls to 3-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the west while IUP improves to 4-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the west.
The first half was pretty evenly played between the two teams with neither team being able to crack the scoreboard. IUP held a seven to four advantage in shots in the half but the Griffins held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Grace Kenyon recorded two saves in net in the first half.
The second half was all Griffins as they controlled play for most of the entire half. SHU peppered the Crimson Hawk goalie with 12 shots including eight on goal but just could not finish any of their chances in the half. IUP took advantage of a free kick with just over ten minutes to play. The free kick, from just outside the box, got away from Kenyon after she made a stop on the first shot and a Crimson Hawk was able to bounce on the loose ball and put it in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Madison Carr, Juila Scamardi and
Victoria Rothrauff each had two shots on goal for the Griffins. Kenyon finished with four saves for the Griffins.
Seton Hill will host California (PA) on Saturday beginning at 11 AM.
