Seton Hill Athletics continue to set new records each year for the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Awards.  The Griffins placed 186 student athletes on the D2ADA Award list for the 2020-21 academic year.  Seton Hill had the second most student-athletes honored in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and the fifth most in the country honored behind Charleston (WV) with 260, Mercyhurst with 221, U Indy with 215 and Lindenwood with 197.

Seton Hill Athletic Director Chris Snyder added, "Having the 5th highest number of student-athletes listed on the D2 ADA's Academic Achievement Awards is something to be truly proud of in what was a very crazy and hectic academic and athletic year. Our student-athletes remain committed to their academic pursuits along with their athletic endeavors."

The Academic Achievement Award program recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level. In order to receive the Academic Achievement Award, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher, have attended a minimum of two years of college and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during their last academic year.

In total, 16,164 student-athletes from 187 institutions were recognized for the 2020-21 Academic Achievement Awards. For the third straight year the conference leader was the PSAC with 1,466 followed by the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) with 1,216.

Seton Hill was one of 12 PSAC schools to have student-athletes recognized. Bloomsburg, California (Pa.), Clarion, Gannon, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Pitt Johnstown, Shippensburg and West Chester joined the Griffins on the list.

The D2ADA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of Division II athletics directors.
