Seton Hill continued PSAC West play on Saturday afternoon as they hosted Gannon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
The Griffins came alive in the second half after a slow start in the first half to pull away from Gannon in an 18-6 home victory. The win is the sixth in a row for SHU to start the season. SHU is now 6-0 overall and 5-0 in PSAC West play. Â
The teams exchanged goals just 30 seconds apart less than three minutes into the contest to open the scoring. Three straight goals from the Griffins gave SHU a 4-1 lead midway through the first half.Â
Elizabeth Tamasitis,
Kate Kada and
Jaclyn Frank scored for SHU in the three goal run. Â
After a Gannon goal, Frank and
Taylor Fox-Trudel scored to give SHU a 6-2 advantage with 13:18 left in the half. Fox-Trudel scored the final goal of the half with 9:04 remaining to close out the scoring as SHU took a 7-3 lead into the halftime break. Â
SHU outshot the Knights 21-7 in the first half and held a 6-5 advantage in draw controls. SHU also forced 18 Gannon turnovers in the half. Â
The second half was dominated by the Griffins as they outscored Gannon 11-3 in the half. The teams traded goals to open the half with Fox-Trudel netting the SHU goal. The Griffins then ran off eight straight goals to extend their lead to 16-4 with 13:32 to play in the contest.Â
Kristi Kada scored four of the eight goals during the run.Â

Elizabeth Tamasitis and
Kate Kada also added goals during the 8-0 run. Â
Gannon cut the lead to 16-5 before
Alyssa Ference and Fox-Trudel closed out the scoring for the Griffins. Â
The Griffins finished the contest with 41 shots to just 13 for the Knights. SHU won the draw control battle by a 15-10 margin. SHU forced 29 Gannon turnovers in the win.

Kyleigh Hessian each played a half for the Griffins in cage and each recorded two saves. Â
Kristi Kada led SHU with 5 goals.Â
Jaclyn Frank and
Taylor Fox-Trudel each added six points with Fox-Trudel scoring four times and Frank scoring twice. Tamasitis added two goals and two assists.Â
Kate Kada finished with two goals and an assist while TeSelle added a goal and assist. Â
Makayla Kintner led SHU with six draw controls while
Kristi Kada finished with five.Â
Kristi Kada and Tamasitis led SHU with a game high five caused turnovers. Kintner added four caused turnovers. Â
SHU returns to action next Saturday when they host Indiana (PA) in a PSAC West contest at 3 PM. Â
