The Griffins closed out PSAC West play with a road matchup in Erie against Gannon on Sunday afternoon.
After a slow start, the Griffins were able to pull away in the second half for a 17-7 road win. With the victory, the Griffins improve to 12-0 overall and finish with a perfect 10-0 PSAC West record.
Kristi Kada opened the scoring for the Griffins before the Golden Knights scored the next two goals to take a 2-1 lead just under six minutes into the contest. Back to back goals from the Kada sisters, Kristi and Kate gave SHU a 3-2 lead with 12:32 remaining in the half. The Knights tied the score at three with 12:56 to play in the half.
The Griffins then closed the half on a 4-0 run to take a 7-3 lead into the halftime break.
Kristi Kada scored twice in the run and
Alyssa Ference and
Kate Kada each added a goal during the run. Kristi's last goal of the half was scored with four seconds to play.
Seton Hill out shot the Knights by a 17-10 margin in the half. Gannon won 10 of 11 draws in the half.
SHU continued their run and scored the first four goals of the second half as they extended their run to an 8-0 run.
Jaclyn Frank scored the first two goals while
Hannah Thompson and
Hannah Kelley scored the final two goals of the run to give SHU an 11-3 lead with twenty minutes to play.
The teams exchanged goals with
Elizabeth Tamasitis and
Alaina TeSelle scoring goals for SHU as they led 13-5 with 11:23 to play.
Seton Hill scored four times in the final ten minutes with Kelley,
Emily Megonnell,
Natalie Mazelon and
Piper Conlan scoring for the Griffins. Mazelon's goal was her first collegiate goal.
Kristi Kada led SHU with four goals.
Kate Kada,
Jaclyn Frank and
Hannah Kelley each scored twice.
Kate Kada added two assists.
Kamille Ward earned the win with six saves.
SHU will close out their regular season when they travel to Bloomsburg on Wednesday.
