The Griffins took a break from PSAC West play as they hosted Walsh in a non conference matchup on Friday afternoon.
Seton Hill used a career high seven goals from
Elizabeth Tamasitis as they defeated the Cavaliers by the score of 17-10. The Griffins improve to 11-0 on the season. Â
The teams exchanged goals over the first five minutes as each team scored twice. Tamasitis and
Kate Kada scored the two goals for the Griffins. Two more goals from Tamasitis and
Kate Kada put the Griffins in front 4-2 with 22:40 to play. Â
After a Cavs goal,
Alyssa Ference and
Jaclyn Frank scored to extend the SHU lead to 6-3 with 18 minutes left in the first half. The Cavaliers scored to trim the lead to 6-4 but the Griffins responded with a 4-0 run to take a 10-4 lead with four minutes to play. Tamasitis scored twice and Kristi and
Kate Kada added single goals during the 4-0 run. Â
One more Cavalier goal, the Griffins scored the final three goals of the half.Â
Kate Kada scored with 2:37 to play and Tamasits and
Alaina TeSelle scored in the final minute to put SHU in front 13-5 at the half. Â
The Griffins out shot the Cavs 18-12 in the half. They had 10 draw controls to nine for Walsh. Â
Walsh scored the first two goals of the second half to trim the Griffins lead to 13-7. Ference answered to extend the lead to 14-7 with 18:56 left. The Cavs scored with 16:30 left before the Griffins put the game away with a 3-0 run. Tamasitis scored twice and
Hannah Kelley added the final goal of the run. Â
The Griffins out shot Walsh 34-24 in the contest. They held a 16-12 advantage in draw controls. Â
Tamasitis scored a career high seven goals in the win.Â
Kate Kada finished with four goals and an assist. Ference finished with two goals and an assist and Frank added a goal and an assist.Â
Lindsay Reho had a game high five assists. Â
SHU will close out PSAC West play on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Gannon.
