Seton Hill hosted Glenville State on Sunday afternoon in a single nine inning contest looking to start the season with a 3-0 record.
The Griffins took advantage of some timely hits and some wildness from the Pioneer staff as they rolled to an 11-1 victory. SHU improved to 3-0 early in the season.
Glenville State took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Derek Orndorff homered with one out in the second inning to tie the contest at one. SHU then added five runs in the bottom of the third inning thanks to two hit batters, two walks and three errors.
Tommy Pellis had an RBI single in the inning and
Jack Oberdorf added a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.
Vincenzo Rauso's two run double was a key hit in a three run fourth inning.
Tanner Froehlich later added a sacrifice fly to give the Griffins a 9-0 lead.
SHU closed out the scoring in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Jamie Wrabel had a sacrifice fly in the inning as the Griffins took a 11-1 lead.
Both Pellis and Orndorff led the Griffins with two hits each.
George Coyle worked two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.
SHU will return to action on Friday afternoon with a single nine inning contest against Clarion starting at 2 PM.
