Seton Hill closed out the 2021 Tri-State Thanksgiving Classic with a matchup with Salem on Sunday afternoon in the McKenna Center. The Griffins scored 15 seconds into the contest and never trailed again in an 83-58 win over the Tigers. SHU is now 4-3 on the season while Salem falls to 1-3.
The Griffins scored the first nine points of the contest to take an early 9-0 lead over Salem.
Katie Nolan scored five of the points and
Samantha Kosmacki scored the other four in the 9-0 run. Back to back three pointers from
Courtney Tomas and Kosmacki extended the SHU lead to 20-8 with just over three minutes to play in the quarter. Salem closed the quarter on a 6-1 run and trailed by a 21-14 margin heading to the second quarter.
Salem scored the first four points of the second quarter and they cut the lead to 21-18 less than two minutes into the quarter. The Griffins led by just two, 31-29 with 4:29 to play, but closed the half on a 12-0 run to take a 43-29 lead into the halftime break.
Rena Enterline had five points in the final four minutes.

Cheyenne Trest free throws extended the SHU lead to twenty points just 1:40 into the second half. Back to back layins from
Christiane Frye pushed the lead to 23 with 2:46 to play in the quarter. SHu led 64-45 after three quarters of play.
Enterline and Nolan hit baskets, Kosmacki drained a three and Frye added two free throws as the Griffins led 73-45 with 6:28 to play. Seton Hill took their largest lead of the game on a three pointer from
Kelly Weeks with four minutes to play.
Nolan led the Griffins with another double double of 17 points and 15 rebounds. Kosmacki also scored 17 points in the win. Frye finished the game with 13 points and Enterline also reached double figures with 11 points.
After taking a break for the Thanksgiving break, the Griffins will return to action next Sunday when they host Penn State Fayette at 4 PM.
