Griffins Roll to Easy Win Over Livingstone

Seton Hill returned to action on Saturday afternoon in the PSAC/CIAA Challenge in Indiana, PA when they took on Livingstone.  SHU jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back as they cruised to an easy 84-40 win.  The Griffins are now 2-2 on the season.  

Katie Nolan completed a three point play, Sonia Sarda hit a jumper and Cheyenne Trest went 3-3 from the line as SHU built an early 8-0 lead less than three minutes into the contest.  Livingstone trimmed the lead to 13-10 with two minutes to play in the half.  The Griffins then ended the quarter on a 10-0 run.  Trest and Kelly Weeks each hit three pointers during the run.  

Early in the second quarter, Samantha Kosmacki hit a three pointer as SHU built their lead to 28-13 with 8:45 to play in the half.  Livingstone cut the lead to 31-20 with 6:42 to play but did not score again as SHU ran off an 11-0 run to close out the half.  SHU led 42-20 at the half.  

Nolan scored the first three baskets of the second half as SHU built their lead to 48-21 two minutes into the second half.  Later in the quarter, Christiane Frye ran off six points in a row for the Griffins as they pushed their lead to 31 points.  The lead got to as many as 32 points before settling for a 62-32 lead at the end of the quarter.  

Seton Hill continued to extend their lead in the fourth quarter as they ended with a 44 point lead on a three pointer from Maddy Moore in the final minute of the game.  

Nolan posted her second double double of the season with 17 points and ten rebounds.  Frye also reached double figures with 16 points.  Trest and Sarda each scored eight points with Sarda adding six assists.

SHU will continue play in Indiana on Sunday afternoon when they meet Virginia State at 1 PM.
