Mansfield struck for three goals in the second quarter to build their lead and the Mountaineers would go on to post a 6-0 victory over Seton Hill at DSG Field Saturday.
Although Mansfield created 11 corners in the opening period, they managed just one goal, which came 5:24 into the contest. Griffin goalie
Shannon Mccormac stopped four shots in the first quarter to keep it a 1-0 Mountaineer lead.
The visiting team would extend their lead with three goals in the second period, including two just over a minute apart, and Mansfield had a 4-0 lead at halftime. The third quarter was scoreless and although the Griffins created two scoring chances in the fourth quarter, they were unable to convert those into goals. The Mountaineers managed to add two more scores in the final period to finish off the 6-0 win.
Mccormac finished the afternoon with seven saves.
Seton Hill will remain at home for its next game when they host Mercyhurst on Tuesday at 4 pm.
