Griffins Improve to 2-0 in PSAC West Play

The Griffins made the trip to Johnstown for a PSAC West matchup with the Mountain Cats on Wednesday afternoon.  Seton Hill scored twice in the first half then added a goal in the second half for a 3-0 shutout win over UPJ.  SHU is now 5-3-1 overall and 2-0 in the West while UPJ falls to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2 in the west.  

It did not take the Griffins long to take the lead in Johnstown.  Less than seven minutes into the contest the Griffins took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Fletcher AmosElias Mobrin assisted on the goal.  Just over four minutes later, the Griffins increased their lead to 2-0.  Elias Vangen scored off an assist from Brice Gandhi to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead.  SHU took the 2-0 lead into the halftime break.  SHU held a 9-8 advantage in shots in the half.  Corners were even at two a piece.  Bobby White recorded one save in the half.  

With less than 20 minutes to play in the contest, the Griffins pushed their advantage to three goals.  Anton Dupont Linden scored the third goal for the Griffins.  Michael Manos added the assist.

White recorded four saves in the shutout win.  Vangen and Gandhi each had two shots on goal.  

The Griffins continue PSAC West play on Saturday afternoon when they travel to CalU.
