#16 Gannon and the Griffins were the top two teams in the PSAC West standings as the teams entered play on Saturday. Seton Hill made the trip to Erie for a PSAC West matchup with the Golden Knights on Saturday evening under the lights. Gannon stayed in first place with a 1-0 win over the Griffins. SHU is now 8-7-1 overall and 5-3 in the west while Gannon improves to 13-1-2 overall and 6-0-2 in the west.
The Knights scored the lone goal of the contest in the 32nd minute of the first half. Gannon took advantage of a corner kick and scored off a header off the corner for the 1-0 lead.
Bobby White finished the contest with four saves.
Elias Vangen finished with two shots on goal.
The Griffins dropped to third place with 15 points, two points behind second place Mercyhurst. Gannon leads the west with 20 points. The top three teams in the west make the PSAC playoffs. CalU is currently fourth with 10 points. SHU will host CalU on Wednesday afternoon and can clinch a PSAC playoff spot with either a win or tie against the Vulcans.
