Seton Hill hosted Gannon on Saturday afternoon in the McKenna Center in a PSAC West matchup. Gannon swept the Griffins in three sets after the Griffins put up a good battle in the second set.
The early portion of the first set was tight as the teams were tied at 6. Gannon broke away with a 5-0 run to take an 11-6 lead. They used two more 4-0 runs to take a one set to none lead with a 25-14 first set win.
After a kill from
Mara Yahner and a block from
Bobbi Rempe and
Elizabeth Ward, SHU led 6-4 in the second set. Gannon responded with a 6-1 run. Kills from
Paige Cole,
Mariela Alvarado and
Riley Rock tied the set at ten. A kill from Yahner and a block from Yahner and Ward tied the set at 22 but the Knights scored three of the final four points for a 2-0 lead.
Gannon jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set and never looked back in closing out the Griffins with a 25-14 third set win.
Yahner led the Griffins with 11 kills. Cole added seven kills. Rock finished with five.
Abby Oesterling led the offense with 16 assists. Ward finished with three blocks. Leazer led the Griffins with 18 digs. Oesterling added 10.
SHU will host Slippery Rock on Tuesday evening.
